Jer’s LA Observations – #1
So I have officially been an LA resident for one week. I sped right by. I had about a dozen meetings this past week. That helped a lot with the homesickness. I was just freaking busy. Driving around LA eats up a LOT of time.
I thought I’d post a series of observations/lessons I’ve learned during this first week.
Observation #1 – Don’t see a person for what they can do for you. Just see them.
It is so easy to lose focus and make this thing about my career rather than about what God has called me to do – which is be a light in the industry. I think the less I try to make something happen, the more successful I’ll be. Seek first the Kingdom of God and all these things will be added. People have to be my primary focus. I tried to grasp at an opportunity – a very well connected friend. It turned out to be a dead end anyway and I feel like I did the wrong thing – and I might have hurt my witness or at least wrecked an in-road into his spiritual life. I confess it and move on. And hopefully I learn from it.
Stay tuned for more.

Philippians 2:1-11 is where I’ve been landing for the last few weeks. Powerful words.
Same here. Spooky, huh? Was just reading that this instant when I got notification of your comment.
