Dangerous Calling at RIFF
This past weekend was the Rome International Film Festival (in Rome, Georgia.) We had the honor of screening Dangerous Calling not once but twice on Saturday, September 6th. And both shows sold out. Chairs had to be brought in to both screenings – a wonderful problem to have.
The Film Festival was a great experience. Harry Musselwhite and his team did a great job planning and orchestrating everything. We had a chance to see Dance of the Dead again. That is such a fun movie. It comes out on DVD on October 14th. Keep a look out.
Our film screened at 11am and 9pm. It was “so nice to see some familiar faces.”
Carrie Walrond – Nora, Stephen Caudill – Evan, Minnie Tee – Church Soloist, Jackie Prucha – Miss Pat, Me, and Josh.
The audience response was unbelievable. This was the first time we screened the movie to people completely unaware and unassociated with the production. And still, everyone cheered at the right moments. They laughed, some cried, and I truly believe everyone in the audience enjoyed themselves. That was very gratifying.
Rome is such a great place. The people there are so good to filmmakers. We shot a good portion of our film there and would go back in a heart beat. They had some nice things to say about DC in the Rome News-Tribune. And you can see myself and my younger brother, Jon, in a video they posted here.
Next up, we’re screening Dangerous Calling at the AFR Film Festival in Washington, DC on October 4. Check it out.
And be on the lookout for the Dangerous Calling DVD coming soon. I’m working on the special features and the designers over at Circle At Seven are designing the packaging and menu. This is going to be a cool DVD. A must have!
